How do I register a Trade Mark ?

Anyone who wishes to register a trade mark in Guernsey can do so directly with the Intellectual Property Office. Alternatively, you may wish to appoint a legal representative or Intellectual Property professional to carry out this service on your behalf.

What can be registered ?

A trade mark means any sign capable of being represented graphically which is capable of distinguishing the goods or services of one undertaking from those of other undertakings.

A trade mark may, in particular, consist of words (including personal names) designs, letters, numerals or the shape of goods or their packaging.
