Proprietor Searches
Requests for a search of the intellectual property registers by 'proprietor' or the owner of the IP right, an appropriate application should be made.
The Registrar of Intellectual Property will consider appropriate requests for proprietor searches where applications are made on form GTMS supplied with the appropriate fee.
In order to approve such a request and provide the report, the Registrar must be satisfied that the search request is being made in good faith and that it does not facilitate excessive or artificial transfers of rights portfolios between agents, representatives or professional advisors.
