Image Rights Policy Proposal

The Commerce & Employment Department Policy Letter was presented to the States of Deliberation as part of Billet d'Etat XV 2011.

The Department recommendations are that the States

1 Approve the introduction of specific Bailiwick of Guernsey legislation to protect image rights as set out in this report;

2. Direct the preparation of such legislation as may be necessary to give effect to the foregoing for the reasons set out in paragraph 12.1 of the Annexe.

Recent Update from the Registrar

I am delighted to inform you that today the States of Guernsey has passed the Department recommendations to approve the introduction of specific Bailiwick of Guernsey legislation to protect image rights as set out in the Billet D Etat XV 2011 Wednesday 28th September and to direct the preparation of the legislation.
