Database Rights

A database right is a property right (claim) where there has been a substantial investment in the collation of the contents of a database. Database rights do not have to be registered; the right subsists from the moment the database is created.

The Guernsey Intellectual Property Office has issued a guidance note regarding database rights which is available to download below.
